Baltimore’s Commission For Historical and Architectural Preservation approved a new $35 million, 10 story mixed use project on the Eddie’s grocery store site in Mount Vernon. The project includes other historic buildings along 7-15 W. Eager Street.

The project will include apartment and retail components with 175,000 sq. ft. of total space. 126 apartments, 15,000 sq. ft. of street level retail and 45 parking spaces are included in the plan. The retail will most likely be a food-related market. Residents of the 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments will enjoy a rooftop pool and patio, pool bar, dog park, meeting rooms, gym and event space.

Dozens of residents and business owners showed up for hearings to endorse the project and growth in the Mount Vernon neighborhood, one of the city’s oldest communities.

Other recent Mount Vernon developments include the re-opening of the Hotel Revival, another historic property that recently completed an overhaul and operates as a luxury hotel in the zone.
