Nepenthe Homebrew will be closing down their Meadow Mill location in late July as they prepare to relocate to Hampden and expand into new avenues. Nepenthe has had to survive several floods at its current location and will be moving the homebrew store as well as opening a new brewery and tap room later on in 2018.
They will be on 3622-24 Falls Road, a 14,000 sq. ft. Hampden location that will fit a 10 barrel brew house, large taproom and a full kitchen. The move and expansion comes with the requisite name change to Nepenthe Brewing Co.
The business opened in 2013 and has taken financial hits over the years due to the floods. The largest water damage, estimated at $95,000, occurred in 2016 and closed down the business for a month plus.
The new space, besides being nice and dry, used to be the home of David’s 1st and 10 Sports Bar and Caribbean Products, Ltd. The taproom will have communal pub and seating and outdoor seating & events space. Food will be light pub fare, sandwiches, soups and appetizers.
