Harbor Point continues to grow into one of Baltimore’s premiere destinations. Their fourth building, a key part of the project called Wills Wharf, has begun construction. This portion of the project has been delayed for just over a year. The start of Wills Wharf comes at the same time that the Harbor East to Harbor Point bridge has opened, connecting the project to Central Avenue.
Wills Wharf is a 12-story, 330,000 sq. ft. tower with office, ground floor retail and a 156 room hotel on the upper levels. Phase I of construction includes preventative environmental work on the remains of an old chromium plant while developers prepare the site for pylons to anchor the massive tower.
The hotel will be a Canopy by Hilton brand hotel occupying four floors and a side terrace. There is no anchor office tenant signed on for the project. Developer Beatty Development feels confident they will have a committed major tenant soon – they’re in negotiations currently with several targets.
When the project is fully completed and delivered, residents of Fells Point and Harbor East will share about 9 acres of green space and other amenities. Expect a nice increase in housing values surrounding Harbor Point as the project becomes fully realized.
