Apparel maker Fila just signed Baltimore’s largest industrial lease so far in 2018. They recently renewed their existing 379,000 sq. ft. and added on 353,000 sq. ft. at the Pasadena/Curtis Bay industrial complex. The new space is a few doors down from the existing facility and is at 7269 Gambrills Cove Road. They’ve committed for 10 years to both sites.
Why is Fila here? This distribution center is right on the Chesapeake Bay and allows Fila to get their shipping containers up to the Port of Baltimore in 20 minutes tops. The newer facility’s square footage has an essential 42-foot clearance, allowing Fila to double their current shipping capacity.
The company is ramping up distribution to support their steady recent growth. Fila has ongoing relationships with Urban Outfitters, Foot Locker and Barney’s New York that have contributed to pulling them out of a downturn in the early 2000’s.
Fila was represented by CBRE Industrial and Logistics Services in the transaction.
